Ford F-150 Lariat For Sale
Ford’s light-duty ford f150 lariat for sale ute has built an incredible global following thanks to its huge capabilities and impressive equipment list. In 2023, it faces stiff competition from the full-size RAM and Chevrolet utes already on sale here, as well as Toyota’s upcoming Tundra. So we climbed aboard the long-wheelbase F-150 Lariat SWB and set out to see how Australia’s version of America’s favourite truck stacks up.
Unlike the RAM 1500 and Chevrolet Silverado, which use V8 power, this F-150 uses Ford’s 3.5-litre twin-turbo Ecoboost V6 with 298kW/768Nm. It’s paired with a smooth-shifting 10-speed auto. Long-wheelbase versions can be fitted with a 4×4 system that lets you toggle between 2-Auto and 4-Haul for extra traction when towing or on slippery surfaces. And both the XLT and Lariat can tow up to 4500kg braked.

While a little bouncy at highway speeds, this is a comfortable vehicle for longer drives. And the spacious cabin has plenty of handy storage for small items, with lower door bins that are partitioned and two gloveboxes. The rear seat can be folded down and the cargo tray has movable tie-down points, an integrated tailgate step and a drop-in bed liner.
On the downside, there’s no ANCAP crash-test rating for this F-150 and it’s unlikely to receive one given its status as a light commercial vehicle. It has a three-year/100,000km warranty with 12 months/12,000km service intervals. In comparison, the RAM and Chev offer a three-year/100,000km waranty with six months/12,000km service intervals.
